Delvebound: Crusader Class

Jumping into the fray, swinging their mace wildly in a bout of glory, the crusader is a holy warrior fighting on behalf of a cause greater than themselves. After the earlier preview of the brand new (to us) priest class, we are now looking at the other half: the crusader.

In the previous version, the crusader was a combination of the cleric and paladin class from the 5e core rules. After a few years of playing this way, we're now looking at separating the two back into their classic archetypes. The benefit to this is we know these classes are already well balanced and consistent. They also come with a whole bunch of existing subclasses from the years of 5e products that can be immediately dropped into your games.

With matching the paladin base class, and by moving away from the cut and paste feature swapping from many of the previous styles, you will see some familiar subclasses that have been reworked from the ground up. The Knight, Templar, and Witchhunter remain with the crusader, but each subclass has been completely retooled with their themes in mind to give them fully custom and unique features.
