Community Spotlight: Dwarven Constructs by TheBeardedDM


The Animunculi of the Dwemer still haunt the halls of their ancient ruins, protecting and maintaining what their creators left behind. @TheBeardedDM has put together a handful of Dwemer stat blocks for use in his home game and has graciously shared them with all of us. DWARVEN SPIDER

Small Construct (Dwemer), Unaligned

Abilities

Magic Resistance. The Dwarven Spider has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects

Immutable Form. The Dwarven Spider is immune to any effects that would alter it's form

Soul Discharge (Petty). When the Dwarven Spider is reduced to 0 hitpoints the soul gem that powers it discharges it's held soul. All creatures within 5 feet must make a DC 14 Agility saving throw. They take 5 (1d10) force damage on a failed save, Or half as much on a successful one.

Pack Tactics. The Dwarven Spider has advantage on attack rolls if at least one of its allies is within 5 ft of the target and isn't incapacitated.

Actions

Multiattack. The Dwarven Spider makes two jab attacks or one jab attack and one sparks attack.

Jab. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target.

Hit: 7 (1d8+3) piercing damage

Sparks. Ranged Spell Attack: +2 to hit, reach 20 ft, one target.

Hit: 8 (2d8) lightning damage, the target makes a willpower saving throw. On failure the target may not consume magicka for 1 round.

DWARVEN SPHERE

Medium Construct (Dwemer), Unaligned

Armor Class: 16 (Natural Armor)

Hit Points: 50 (10d8+10)

Speed: 30 ft (60 ft in ball form)

Strength: 12 (+1)

Endurance: 12 (+1)

Intelligence: 9 (-1)

Custom Loot. When looted after being defeated the DM rolls 1d10. If the DM rolls a 10 the sphere has a Dwarven heavy crossbow. This crossbow is a +2 weapon.

Actions

Multiattack. The Dwarven Sphere makes two armblade attacks or two heavy crossbow attacks

Armblade. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to Hit, 5 ft reach, one target.

Hit: 8 (2d12+2) slashing damage

Heavy Crossbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: 100/400, +9 to hit, One Target.

Hit: 10 (1d10+5) Piercing damage

Roll Up. as a bonus action the Dwarven Sphere may enter ball Form, it may leave ball form as a bonus action. When in ball form the Dwarven Sphere’s AC is 20 and it's speed is doubled. If it leaves ball form within 5 feet of an enemy it incurs an attack of opportunity.

DWARVEN BALLISTA

Large Construct (Dwemer), Unaligned

Soul Discharge (Greater). When the Dwarven Ballista is reduced to 0 hitpoints the soul gem that powers it discharges it's held soul. All creatures within 5 ft must make a DC 14 Agility Saving throw. They take 15 (3d10) force damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one.

Armor Piercing Rounds. Once per turn, if the Dwarven Ballista rolls 10 or lower on an attack roll, before applying modifiers, it rolls again. It must use the second roll.

Actions

Ballista Bolt: Ranged Weapon Attack, +10 to hit, 100/400, One Target, Reloading

Hit: 21 (3d10+6) piercing damage, the target must make a DC 16 strength saving throw. On a failed save the target is knocked backwards 5 ft and prone.

DWARVEN CENTURION

Large Construct (Dwemer), Unaligned

Soul Discharge (Grand). When the Dwarven Centurion is reduced to 0 hitpoints the soul gem that powers it discharges it's held soul. All creatures within 5 ft must make a DC 14 Agility Saving throw. They take 20 (4d10) force damage on a failed save or half as much on a successful one.

Custom Loot. When looted after being defeated the GM rolls 1d10. If the GM rolls a 10 then the Centurion has a steamforged Dwarven Greataxe.

(Steamforged Dwarven Greataxe: +2 Greataxe, as a bonus action after a successful attack with this weapon the wielder may release a cloud of steam. All creatures within 5 ft take 1d8 fire damage)

Actions

Multiattack. the Dwarven Centurion makes 3 axe-arm attacks, or 2 hammer arm attacks.

Axe-Arm. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, 10 ft reach, one target.

Hit: 22 (3d8+10) slashing damage

Hammer-Arm. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, 10 ft reach, one target.

Hit: 25 (3d10+10) bludgeoning damage, the target makes a DC 17 strength saving throw or is knocked prone.

Steam-Breath (recharge 5-6). The Dwarven Centurion releases a blast of steam in a 15 ft cone. Creatures in the cone make a DC 17 Agility Saving throw. They take 38 (7d10) fire damage on a failed throw or half as much on a successful one.
